West Liua joined New England Spas in November of 2019 and he currently works as Assistant Service Manager/Operations. West joins us from Hawaii! He is from Kailua on the island of Oahu.
West is this year’s winner of our Randy Jones Customer Service Award. Each calendar year New England Spas selects a candidate based on nominees from staff members who embody our companies’ Mission statement and Values. They handle customer issues in a timely and professional manner, work with our vendors to provide solutions to challenges, regularly receive positive feedback from coworkers and customers alike, and are considered team players in the company.
“I was so pleased that West was this year’s Randy Jones recipient. West always puts customers first and follows up diligently, he demonstrates only a positive attitude, and treats coworkers like friends,” said New England Spas Service Manager, Jeremiah Belanger.
Each year the Randy Jones Award winner picks a charity of choice for a sizeable company paid donation. West selected St. Francis House, located in Downtown Boston. St. Francis House provides refuge and pathways to stability for adults experiencing homelessness and poverty.
West selected St. Francis house partly because he worked to assist the homeless through food donation programs and foundations in Hawaii before coming to New England. “I was involved with programs to assist the homeless in Hawaii. There is quite a bit of homelessness there. I can’t imagine what it would be like to be homeless in New England with the cold. Places like St. Francis House are so important to help those experiencing homelessness,” said West. What do you like to do when you’re not a work?
Being outdoors – any type of outdoor activity.
Favorite sports team?
High school football is huge in Hawaii. Now that I am here, any of the New England sports teams.
Favorite place you’ve visited and anywhere you would like to go next?
I travelled through Europe for a month, that was my favorite. We started in Sweden and went to Italy, Germany, France, London, and Ireland. Once the pandemic is over, I’ll hopefully make my way to Greece or Australia.
Favorite thing about working at New England Spas?
The people. Everyone that I work with is really great. The overall atmosphere and the people.
